CURRICULUM

Like other private/parochial schools, St. John’s can boast of its students’ academic success in high school and beyond. In addition, students at St. John’s learn in a Christ-centered, family friendly setting that has served many families—from the entire community—for generations.

Religious Life. Students attend religion classes, participate in daily classroom devotions and prayers, and attend weekly chapels. The religion curriculum is based on Lutheran teachings, but families of other Christian churches find that St. John’s provides great support to raise their children in the Christian faith.

Textbooks and other learning materials are chosen to support our curriculum goals on the basis of their educational value. When there is disharmony between Biblical teaching and the textbook, teachers at St. John’s are trained to handle the difference in line with our school’s mission.

Technology. St. John’s is a leader in integrating technology in classrooms to enrich teaching and learning. Students and teachers have access to Chromebooks, iPads, SMART Boards, Promethean Boards, and other technology resources.

Music/Art. The music and art program at St. John’s train students to high standards. In addition to the classroom music curriculum at all levels, students in Grades 5-8 have opportunities for band and vocal choirs. Students may participate in musicals, concerts, and concerts.

Physical Education. Our physical education promotes fitness and wellness through exercise, games, and general movement activities.
